Bangalore: arrival

We've just arrived in Bangalore last night and contrary to my expectations, it was hassle free and scam free (over read the Lonely Planet). Everything went smoothly, taxi was fine, hotel was fine and food is good too! We're staying in MG Road where we have not seen the India everyone romanticised about - far from the ancient city of lores, Bangalore (so far) is modern, convenient and cosmopolitan. Slightly disappointing for the fantasising orientalist, but great for people who need a gradual transition from KL's hypermodernity.

Although I may be speaking too soon! Only been here for several hours.
